Next tie 2014
Kazakhstan will take part in the World Group for the fourth consecutive year in 2014.
Last tie 5-7 April 2013
Featuring in the quarterfinals for the second time, Kazakhstan was denied the chance to reach its first World Group semifinal after falling to defending champions Czech Republic 3-1 in Astana. Jan Hajek and Lukas Rosol put the visitors 2-0 up with fairly routine singles wins and, while Andrey Golubev and Yuriy Schukin combined to defeat Hajek and Radek Stepanek in the doubles, Rosol polished off victory for the defending champions when a supreme serving performance saw him edge past Evgeny Korolev in four tight sets.
Kazakhstan competed in the World Group for the first time in its history in 2011. Prior to 1995, players from Kazakhstan competed for Soviet Union.
